Protocols for in-person counselling

Masks are now Mandatory in our office at all times

  • Clients will be asked when booking an appointment whether they have symptoms of COVID-19. They will be asked to cancel or reschedule their appointment if they develop symptoms or have a family member who has confirmed or suspected COVID-19. Clients will be reminded of this policy when they arrive for their appointment.
  • All in-person appointments are scheduled and staggered to allow time to sanitize surfaces between appointments and to minimize contact with others. In the initial re-opening stage, only four therapists per day will book appointments in the main office.
  • Clients will come to the door at the exact time of your appointment and wait for your therapists to let you in.
  • Access to a counselling office is restricted to clients only.
  • The waiting room will not be utilized, except by parents of young children and then only
  • if necessary.
  • COVID-19 protocol signage has been posted on the main door.
  • Masks must be worn inside the main office and during your counselling session
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided for clients to use when entering and exiting offices.
  • Plexiglass barriers have been placed around reception area.
  • Protocols have been established to deal with physical distancing requirements within the therapy rooms, as well as entering and leaving the office.
  • Coffee/water stations and magazines have been removed from public area.
  • Tissues and waste baskets will be accessible to clients and contents of baskets removed in a timely manner.
  • Onsite payment will be limited to credit/debit. Pin pads will be sanitized before/after client use. Receipts will be sent electronically.
  • The therapists will sanitize the therapy rooms after each client has left.
  • The main reception area will be thoroughly sanitized at the end of the day.
