Rick uses a number of diversified counselling techniques to assist individuals, couples and families with a variety of issues. Solution-focused brief therapies and cognitive behaviorial therapies are used to help individuals deal with anxiety, depression, trauma, chemical addictions, career changes, lifestyle changes and emotional dependencies. Counselling is provided for couples and families faced with marital conflict, communication breakdown, stress and parenting concerns. Special assistance is given to those individuals and families coping with issues of addiction and difficult teen behavior.
Rick received his Master of Arts Degree from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago and his Doctor of Psychology Degree from the Southern California University for Professional Studies.
Rick is registered with the College of Psychologists of B.C. and is a member of the B.C. Psychological Association and the Adlerian Psychology Association of B.C.
Adolescents and parent-teen conflicts are of special interest to Rick and he has written a helpful handbook for parents entitled, "Parenting Teens Without Power and Strings".
Rick regularly offers workshops for parents of teens and is available to speak to groups on a variety of issues.
