Nancy deVries, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), has been in practice for over 10 years. Nancy specializes in therapy with children, adolescents and families, as well as individuals and couples.
Nancy works with children and individuals who have experienced trauma such as physical and sexual abuse, witnessing violence and parental separation and divorce. Symptoms may include anxiety, depression or difficulty in relationships with others or at school. Nancy uses art and play therapy to help children express themselves. She is also trained to use EMDR with children, adolescents and adults.
When working with families, Nancy supports the role of parents by teaching effective parent skills and also offers marital counselling to couples experiencing distress. Nancy's broad base of clinical skills helps families work through their struggles.
Nancy presents workshops within the community on effective parenting skills, stress management and suicide prevention.
